MEDITOXIN® 200u - Indications
MEDITOXIN® 200u is indicated for the treatment of benign essential blepharospasm in patients 18 years and older, equinus foot deformity in pediatric cerebral palsy patients 2 years and older, serious glabellar wrinkles in adults aged 18 to 65, and upper limb spasticity after stroke in patients 20 years and older.
Contraindications and Side Effects:
- Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to any components, infection at the injection site.
- Common Side Effects: Eyelid ptosis (3.2%), extraocular muscle disorder (0.6%), localized pain, and swelling.
- Adverse Event Rate: 16.1% with MEDITOXIN® and 27.6% with OnabotulinumtoxinA. No significant differences in safety profiles.
MEDITOXIN® 200u - Administration Technique and Storage
Administration of MEDITOXIN® 200u involves intramuscular injection by a qualified healthcare professional. Dosages vary based on the condition treated. For glabellar lines, a dose of 20 units divided across 5 points is standard. For upper limb spasticity, dosing depends on the muscle group and severity.
