JAYDESS® - About and Key Features
Jaydess® is a levonorgestrel intrauterine delivery system (IUS) designed for the prevention of pregnancy. It consists of a small T-shaped polyethylene frame containing 13.5 mg of levonorgestrel, a hormone commonly used in contraceptive pills. The hormone is embedded in a dimethylsiloxane/methylvinylsiloxane cross-linked elastomer and is released gradually into the uterus over a period of three years. Jaydess® is not an emergency contraceptive and must be placed inside the womb for continuous hormone release.
- Gradual hormone release over 3 years
- Prevents pregnancy by thickening cervical mucus and altering uterine lining
- T-shaped frame facilitates proper placement and easy removal
JAYDESS® - Packaging and Ingredients
Jaydess® is packaged as a sterile, T-shaped intrauterine system sealed in a protective sachet. The packaging ensures that the product remains sterile until use. The threads attached to the frame facilitate easy removal. The pack contains essential information, including the expiry date and storage instructions.
The active ingredient in Jaydess® is levonorgestrel (13.5 mg). The frame is made of polyethylene, while the hormone is embedded within a dimethylsiloxane/methylvinylsiloxane elastomer membrane. The threads are made of iron oxide and polyethylene.
